Cathy Anderson embarked on her journey as an inquisitive only child with a love for reading and writing. Despite being recognized for her intellect, she often found herself navigating the path less traveled. Her academic pursuits led her to UT Chattanooga, where she majored in Pre-med Chemistry and Psychology, only to later embrace her calling as an LPN in 1990. With degrees in Healthcare Management and an MBA in Project Management, Cathy's foundation was solidified. Growing up in the influential shadow of physicians and scientists, thanks to her mother's association with Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University, Cathy was always surrounded by a village of mentors who inspired and nurtured her ambitions. However, her deep empathy for those less fortunate often made her feel content with having just what was necessary, rather than seeking excess.
The entrepreneurial spark ignited in Cathy at the tender age of 16 during her stint at Bojangles, a chicken restaurant. Observing the business dynamics, she began to dream big, envisioning a future where she could blend her passion for psychiatry with her entrepreneurial aspirations. Over the years, Cathy's ventures have been diverse and impactful. From founding a group home for the mentally challenged and elderly to establishing the Women’s Awareness & Empowerment Organization, her journey has been a testament to her resilience and vision. With a portfolio that boasts a children's clothing store, beauty supply outlets, and more, Cathy's entrepreneurial spirit is undeniable. For the past 15 years, her consulting firm, A&E Coaching Group, Inc., has been a beacon for administrative services, aiding in nonprofit preparations, government procurement filings, and more. Her life's journey has seen her traverse cities, from Orlando to Atlanta and Miami, only to return to Nashville, where she dedicated herself to caring for her late mother. Through every twist and turn, Cathy's mission has remained unwavering: to empower, inspire, and achieve.
